Austin County Sheriff’s Office CID investigates robbery, theft, violent crimes, and assaults. Our personnel have received extensive investigative training in evidence collection, interview and interrogation, and crime scene processing.
Additionaly Criminal Investigations Division will conduct follow-up investigations of reported crimes. The follow-up investigation consists of interviewing suspects, victims and witnesses- analyzing information for validity, reliability and accuracy- and compiling a factual case for presentation to the District Attorney’s office for prosecution.
