The Patrol Division is responsible for patrolling the unincorporated areas of Austin County. These functions include 24 hour patrol and response to criminal activities, traffic enforcement, crash investigation and livestock issues.
The patrol division is responsible for the initial response to all criminal calls as well as patrolling all unincorporated areas of Austin County. The patrol deputies are responsible for taking reports on crimes which lead to investigation conducted by the Criminal Investigation Division. A deputy may be faced with enforcing or investigating any type of criminal offense.
