On Wednesday May 17, 2023, The Westside Narcotics Task Force (HIDTA) conducted a narcotics operation that resulted in the arrest of two subjects and the seizure of drugs and a weapon. The arrests are a result of Task Force Officers investigating a drug trafficking organization operating within the Austin County / Waller County area. Defendants Oswaldo Cuero Guerrero (35) and Javari Shandale Head-Mitchell (32) of Houston, Texas were arrested in 35000 blk of Interstate 10 in Brookshire, Texas. The defendants were found to be in possession of 361.53 grams of Methamphetamine and 87.18 Grams of Fentanyl along with a loaded handgun. Both defendants were booked into the Waller County Jail on the charge of Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Defendant Guerrero was also charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Additional to the Task Force Officers, Waller County Sheriff’s Office patrol units and members of the Austin County Regional SRT assisted with the operation. The Westside Narcotics Task Force is comprised of investigators from the Austin County Sheriff’s Office, Bellville PD, Sealy PD, Hempstead PD, Waller County Sheriff’s Office, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, and DEA.
