Special Response Team


The Austin County Sheriff's Office, along with the Bellville Police Department, the Sealy Police Department, and the Constables of Pct. 2 and 3, have formed a Special Response Team which respond to high risk situations involving threat to human life.  This trained group of officers respond to the following high-risk situations including, but not limited to: barricaded persons, high-risk arrest, high-risk searches, hostage situations, search and rescue, drug search warrants, threatened suicide intervention and terrorist threats. 

The Austin County Special Response Team consist of Team Commanders, Team Leaders, Sniper squad, Breach Team, Hostage Negotiations, Assault Team, gas Team and Special Support / Medical. All officers receive training in swat tactics, negotiations, team deployment and operations, firearms, chemical weapons and tactics involving high-risk operations.
