4 Murders in Raccoon Bend

In November of 1996, Retired rancher Will Stepenpohl, 86, his daughter Bernice Schiller, 62, his son-in-law Aldon Schiller, 67, and neighbor Ray Paine, 81, were found shot to death in Stepenpohl's trailer home about 15 miles northeast of Bellville.
The crime, the bloodiest in recent Austin County history, has left the community stunned. The four were found apparently shot to death with a rifle or shotgun as they apparently huddled for safety in a back room.

Anyone with any information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for these senseless crimes, is asked to please call the Crime Stoppers number. You will remain anonymous, and will be eligible for the reward, if the information leads to solving the crime.
